Medical Services

Specialized pediatric medical evaluation and treatment services are available to all CARE House clients and coordinated with the multidisciplinary team response to provide follow-up referrals and/or treatment as necessary.

Located at Dayton Children’s Hospital, CARE (child abuse review and evaluation) Clinic provides medical examinations and follow-up care for cases of suspected or alleged child maltreatment. Children benefit from the expertise of child abuse medical providers within a personalized, child-centered environment.

Child abuse medical professionals are available to provide expert care to child victims of abuse.   This care may include:

  • Medical examination of possible sexual abuse, physical abuse or neglect
  • Outpatient examinations
  • Inpatient consultations
  • Social work assessment

Children visiting the CARE Clinic will be seen by Lori Vavul-Roediger, MD who is board-certified in child abuse.
