Prevention, Education & Training
Research shows effective abuse and
neglect prevention programs save children's lives. Effective programs
motivate people to advocate for children, break the cycle of abuse
and neglect, and decrease dollars allocated for reactive services
and programs.

Stewards of Children
Stewards of Children educates adults to prevent, recognize and react
responsibly
to child sexual abuse. It motivates adults to personally and professionally
respond to child sexual abuse.
Stewards of Children is designed for the staffs and volunteers of
child-serving agencies and organizations, churches, dental and medical
practices, and schools. It is also designed for individuals having
direct responsibility for the protection of either their own or
others' children.
Shaken Baby Syndrome
Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) prevention programming educates about
the dangers of shaking an infant/young child. It also teaches about
the importance of having a plan that responds to the frustration
and stress sometimes experienced with a crying infant/young child.
HUGS
HUGS (Help Us Grow Safely) teaches employees and volunteers in a
variety of public settings to recognize and respond effectively
when encountering interactions between parents and children that
may become abusive. Along with tips to safely intervene, this program
educates about the types of child maltreatment, the behavioral and
physical indicators of child maltreatment, the reporting process
and local resources available for the intervention and prevention
of child maltreatment.
